So, like a million years ago, Alice at Futuregirl gave me a blog award…the Sunshine Award. How cute is that?
I was so excited to see my blog on her list, and I totally remember doing a giddy school girl dance around my dining room. I was squealing incoherently at my husband and grinning like a game show contestant, and vowed that I would absolutely have to make someone else’s day by passing it on. I felt so loved, and wanted someone else to feel loved, too.
Can you feel the warm fuzzies, too…or is it just me and the fact that I’m wearing a long-sleeved thermal shirt to avoid scratching my poison ivy rash?
Yeah, so then months went by, and I just didn’t know who to give it to. I started making my list of my “nominees”…and I realized that a lot of the blogs I read on a regular basis have, like, thousands of followers and probably get these things all of the time. And I really wanted to give it to people who might possibly have a similar reaction to the one I had.
Not that I’m near as awesome as Alice or anything
…or even as awesome as your coworker’s nephew who blogs from his mom’s basement about how many iPhone apps he has
…but I am at least a real person and not one of those bots that tells you they like your blog design and asks if they can bookmark your url.
Plus, I thought it would be neat to give you a guys a list of twelve blogs on Friday for the price of one.
So, the Sunshine Award is awarded to bloggers whose positivity and creativity inspires others in the blog world.
There are some rules that come with the award which are as follows:
- Put the logo on your blog or within your post
- Pass the award onto 12 bloggers
- Link the nominees within your post
- Let the nominees know they have received this award by commenting on their blog.
- Share the love and link to the person from whom you received this award.
You know, I wonder who is the governing body of the Sunshine Award? What happens if I can only think or ten bloggers who are positive and creative? Or like two? By what standard is their level of creativity judged, and what if they are found to be only marginally creative? Will my award be revoked?
